HORST HARDWOOD SERVICES
Hardwood Floor Refinishing
Hardwood floor refinishing is a process that rejuvenates tired or damaged hardwood floors. It involves sanding the surface to remove imperfections and old finishes, potentially applying a new stain for a different color, and sealing the wood with a protective finish.
Horst Hardwood Services specializes in residential and commercial hardwood floor refinishing in Pittsburgh, PA, as well as the Cranberry, Sewickley, Wexford, McCandless, Gibsonia and Fox Chapel areas. We use a double HEPA filtration system for dustless sanding, specialized tools and techniques for each step of the process, as well high-quality finishes to protect your wood floors as if they were our own.
Services offered as add-ons to a refinishing are board replacement, scratch removal, carpet removal, and floor repair. We require a minimum of 500 sq. ft. for refinishing. We are fully licensed and insured and we do not use sub-contractors.
Hardwood floor installation involves laying down hardwood planks or strips onto a prepared subfloor, typically using either a nail-down, glue-down, or floating method. The process begins with careful measuring and planning, ensuring a proper layout and alignment of the wood. Subfloor preparation may involve leveling, moisture testing, and the installation of an underlayment or moisture barrier. Next, the hardwood planks are secured in place using the chosen installation method, with each piece interlocking or overlapping, and special attention paid to spacing for expansion. Finally, the floor is sanded, finished, and sealed to achieve the desired appearance and durability, resulting in a beautiful and functional hardwood floor for your space.
At Horst Hardwood Services, we pay meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship, including thorough assessment of the existing floor's condition, precise sanding to create a flawless surface, and expert application of finishes or stains for an exquisite look. We adhere to precise measurements, ensuring proper alignment, secure attachment, and optimal subfloor preparation for long-term durability. We prioritize high-quality materials, eco-friendly practices, and the application of industry best practices, resulting in hardwood floors that not only enhance the aesthetics of a space but also offer exceptional longevity and functionality, all while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
